  We were seated in the back of the restaurant. The atmosphere was lovely and the food was great. We walked away full.
  
  Unfortunately the service was sub par. Multiple times we'd look at a waitress and they'd look away and walk the opposite way. It was quite clear that one girl was in training but there were two others who seemed fully capable of their job and they definitely didn't meet standards. An example, we put an empty water bottle on the corner of the table and we still had to point out that it was empty.
  
  The food makes me want to come back, the service makes me stay away.

  It was a last minute dinner choice but absolutely no regrets. Great seafood in St Kilda. Started with grilled king prawns and mopped up the prawn steeped garlic oil with flat breads. The grilled calamari was perfect and big enough to feed our party of 4. Lastly, ordered the grilled snapper. That came slathered in a char crust of pesto/garlic/curry and the meat milky smooth and fresh. Claypots is a bit hard to notice on the street as they don't have a big sign out front but let the smell of grilled seafood guide you. (Look for the colored windows. It's beside Quan 88) . Has a nice little outdoor area out back.

  Great seafood! Always the fresh seafood! When it's really busy service can be a little bit slow. But the staff are friendly and helpful.
